April Update

2011 has got off to a cracking start with Bid4Spots clients gorging themselves on the airtime normally destined for the COI.

Over £700,000 has been injected into the radio industry so far this year.

Check out our Discounts at a Glance to see some of our recent results – this month we’re looking at a Health and Fitness client in the North West region.

Because of the amazing amount of holidays at the end of this month we also have to change our auction dates to align with station deadlines, starting from next week. Take note of the dates below so you don’t miss out!

Thanks to Absolute Radio we’re giving you the chance to WIN a Roberts Digital Radio.

With a weekly reach of 2.2 million the Absolute Radio Network including 80’s, 90’s 00’s & Classic Rock provides it’s ‘Reluctant Adult’ audience with the very best real music and talent between the songs. With a DJ roster boasting Christian O’Connell, Ronnie Wood, Frank Skinner, & Ian Wright it’s no wonder they’ve just been nominated for 15 Sony Awards! Take a listen to it for yourself here.

For your chance to WIN email us the date that Radio Player launched – the answer is further on in our newsletter!

What's on the Wireless?

Planet Rock is on the wireless at the moment because we love a bit of rock and roll!
With a weekly reach of 827,000, Planet Rock is the largest national DAB radio station in the UK.

Lucio takes care of Breakfast every day and Alice Cooper is still King of the Night and “playing all the stuff that doesn't get played elsewhere”. But the Planet Rock talent pool doesn’t end there! Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliot is on Saturday evenings from 6pm and Francis Rossi from Status Quo on Sundays from 6pm.

The Bid4Spots Process

From airline flights to weekly groceries, we’re all quite happy to “self serve” when it comes to buying anything online. However, if you’ve never used the Bid4Spots online auction before, you might not realise that we offer a full service!

‘Once I realised how simple it was and that the Bid4Spots team do all the work, it was a no-brainer for us’ Colin Gillespie, All Response Media

When you phone or email us with a Bid4Spots brief, here are a few things we automatically do:

Firstly, we run your Target Audience against all stations on RAJAR (radio audience measurement). This is to ascertain which stations will provide you the least wastage and maximum efficiency. Before deciding which stations to invite to the auction, we look at things like Reach Index; Hours Index; Target Reach and TSA (the location each station covers) to make sure that the station really does fit.

Next up, the Bid4Spots team will email you the station maps, profiles and advice on how best to structure the auction itself.

Once this is approved, we set up the auction for you and the stations will be bidding against each other to win your business in Thursday’s auction. We phone and email you with your results and your airtime scheduled for the following week.

After the campaign has finished, the Bid4Spots team will provide you with a full Post Campaign Analysis.

Insider Tip

Using Bid4Spots doesn’t mean you have to stick with the same generic piece of copy – you can load as many different ads as you want into the system and then nominate them to different stations when the auction results come through.

So you could have different messaging tailored for males/females, younger/older, daytime/evening or whatever you wish!

You can also have copy with different response mechanics or offer codes in it to track your response. This enables you to refine your auction station list down to the most responsive stations for future auctions.

You can also have different variations of an advert to run in even rotation and with Bid4Spots copy distribution is free!

For more information contact us, we can also put you in touch with our studios who are able to script, produce and clear radio advertisements of all varieties.

If you've got any queries on this 'tip' – email us!
