Welcome to the Bid4Spots October update.

Last month the Bid4Spots team attended the Radio Advertising Awards in London to see the creative and planning talent from the past year. The awards saw our sister company, Maple Street Studios nominated for producing an advertisement in the New Advertiser category. A great night was had by all and congratulations to Jordan Thomas who produced the short listed commercial.

Our colleagues in the ITC department have also been busy working on a new Bid4Spots animated demonstration to illustrate exactly how Bid4Spots works. Go to www.lastminuteage.com to take a squizz at what they’ve been up to.

The weather is definitely turning, and it’s just another reminder that Christmas is around the corner. In this newsletter we have included a feature on how online retail and radio work together, with a case study on a Bid4Spots client from last year.

We’re also profiling a couple of different stations available on Bid4Spots – the Entertainment News Package and Gaydar Radio as well as giving you a quick update on how Commercial Radio stacks up in the UK – did you know that over 60% of people in the UK now listen to commercial radio?!

As always, it would be lovely to see you face-to-face so give one of the Bid4Spots team a bell on 0207 907 0680 for a chat or to arrange a catch up.

It seems like it was only yesterday that we were sitting on the sofa, recovering from last year’s Christmas dinner. But you can’t help but start noticing the odd Christmas stand, offer or decoration sneaking into your local department stores and supermarkets.

Nobody enjoys fighting through crowds for the last Hannah Montana on the stands, and with online shopping so prolific, people don’t have to anymore. At the click of the button they can, and do, order from the comfort of their own home.

Online retail and radio are a great pairing. According to an RAB survey, at any given time, 20% of people who are online are also listening to the radio, with 50% saying that they had listened to the radio whilst online in the past week. This means they are only a click away from your product.

Last year Bid4Spots ran a pre-Christmas campaign for a new online retail client, who had never used radio before. Over two weeks they managed to get coverage across 13 stations in the South East, and recorded a noticeable uplift in their online activity in that specific region during the campaign. They were not running any other media activity.

To find out more about radio and online give one of the team a buzz on 0207 907 0680.
