Welcome to the Bid4Spots February Update
 

It’s been a busy start to the year for the Bid4Spots team, with record numbers of auctions and advertisers on the site. In total 23 advertisers have been running campaigns on the site since December, with almost £500K going through the auctions. You can see the savings from one of these campaigns in our Discounts at a Glance section below, as well as a testimonial from another of our clients.

In this newsletter we’re also looking at Absolute In-stream, the new way to target your customers even more efficiently, as well as information on how you can optimise your auctions by inviting the right stations.

Absolute Radio Sail Down the In-Stream
Over the past couple of years Absolute Radio has been the stand-out leader in radio’s transition to digital. They have launched more digital-only stations than any other group and their podcasts and apps are among the most popular in the industry. They’ve now pushed the boat out even further with the launch of Absolute In-Stream, a service offering advertisers more refined targeting than ever before.

In-stream allows advertisers to target by specific demographics, including location, age and gender. Listeners are opted into this when they sign up for a premium account online and enter some brief personal details.

AdsWizz have partnered up with Absolute as the mechanics behind the scheme, providing the technology to power the in-stream ads service.  Since the launch in late summer last year, 107,000 account holders have been created or upgraded and this number continues to rise rapidly.

As a result of Absolute In-stream, listeners receive a more personal, directly tailored listening experience and advertisers gain a more effective, intimate level of access to the stations audience.

What's on the Wireless?
After attending "Backbeat, The Beatles Musical" we decided to channel our inner Scouse! So of course, we tuned into 107.6 Juice FM, the station that busted the myth that only National brands are growing.

Juice FM currently reaches 185,000 listeners in Liverpool, a 15% increase on their 2010 performance. The Adam and Leanne breakfast show is award winning and continues to increase its stronghold on the 15 - 39yr old segment. Apart from being a great listen, Juice FM is a necessary addition to any media schedule targeting the Liverpool area.
 
Auction Tip

How do I know what stations to invite to an auction, and what CPT to set?

We don’t expect everyone to know about all stations in the UK – there are over 300 of them! That’s what the Bid4Spots team is here for. We have our heads in radio all day, every day, and we have a planning system that helps us out too!

We use your regional and demographic requirements to figure out which stations would be best to invite to an auction, and provide you with station profiles to go along with this. This way you can make an informed decision on what stations you are happy to invite to your auction.

We also keep close tabs on the radio market and airtime availability so that we can advise you on an effective starting CPT for your auction. CPT means cost per thousand listener impacts, and varies dependent on time of year, station selection and availability.
